Out and About Near Gorslwyd Farm

Ceredigion is situated along the southside of Cardigan Bay and has some of the most beautiful coastline in Wales. It is home to stunning headlands and sandy beaches surrounded by green fields and hills. The protected coastline is home to varied wildlife including grey seals and bottlenose dolphins.

Around Gorslwyd Farm

The village at the top of our lane has a Texaco petrol station with a Post Office, newsagents and grocery store open until 9pm most evenings. There is also the Gogerddan Arms pub and restaurant. Aberporth, just over a mile away has a butchers, chemist, grocery store, take-away restaurant and several pubs.

Cardigan is just 7 miles from Gorslwyd along the A487 and is a busy market town with a good selection of individual shops and an indoor market perfect for buying local produce and gifts. There is also a large Tesco and Somerfield. Other local amenities include a sports centre with two swimming pools and Theatr Mwldan which provides arts entertainment and a cinema. Also based at Theatr Mwldan is a gallery and restaurant adjacent to Cardigan’s Tourist Information Centre which is open all year.

The Local Area

Although Gorslwyd Farm is quiet and secluded it is set off the West Wales coastal road, the A487, at its junction with the B4333 from Newcastle Emlyn and Carmarthen, making it an ideal base from which to explore West and Mid Wales. The seaside towns of Aberaeron and New Quay are within a 20 minute drive, with Aberystwyth a further 20 minutes beyond. North and South Wales are within easy reach for a day trip.

The nearby Preseli Hills and the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park provide spectacular hill, cliff and seaside walks. There are rivers including the Teifi and Aeron for angling.

Local attractions include the Cardigan Island Farm Park, all-terrain adventure centre and woolen mills.
